In Women with Yellow Hair Picasso depicts his muse and lover Marie-Thérèse Walter. Picasso’s young lover’s blonde hair and voluptuous body were explicitly referenced in countless works, often depicted in intimate poses sleeping or reading. A single, curved line delineating her profile became an emblem of how she would appear in numerous works throughout the 1930's.
